Randy's Raisings - CANCELLED
BOSS has two field trips scheduled coming up, and we want you to be there! September 25th we will be visiting the Canal Fulton St. Helena III and riding a replica canal boat, pulled by two Persian horses, down original sections of the Ohio & Erie Canal.
The Ohio & Erie Canalway is a National Heritage Area – designated by Congress in 1996 – to help preserve and celebrate the rails, trails, landscapes, towns and sites that grew up along the first 110 miles of the canal that helped Ohio and our nation grow.
CANCELLED we will then head over to Randy's Raisings in Calcutta, Ohio for a corn maze, hay ride, and other fun activities. Randy’s Raisings was established in 1984 as a produce farm by Randy Delposen. From 1986 to 1990, Delposen operated the produce farm during summer breaks while majoring in Horticulture Business at Ohio State University. During this time Randy’s Raisings began specializing in tomatoes, peppers, and pumpkins.
The new farm market not only offers fresh produce and mums but hay rides and corn mazes as well. The major attraction at the farm market is the corn mazes. “The compass-rose, our first corn maze, was a huge hit in 2000. We had a great time and tried to get the whole community involved by having different non-profit organizations sell concessions on the weekends. This worked out extremely well and we plan to do the same each year."
To RSVP for either field trip, families are asked to contact Vicki Zook as soon as possible as these spots can fill quickly! You can use the information below to register a spot today:
