Score competency (684) in
Algebra 1 and ELA II
If you do not score 684 on ELA II and Algebra 1, you will be scheduled to retest.
700 is proficient on all tests. Proficiency is not required for graduation, but it is required for seals, and you may be scheduled to retest.
Graduation and testing requirements are based on the year a student first entered 9th grade. The Class of 2021 refers to students who entered 9th grade in the fall of 2017; the Class of 2022 refers to students who entered 9th grade in the fall of 2018; the Class of 2023 refers to students who entered 9th grade in the fall of 2019.
Class of 2023 and beyond
Students must earn a “competency” score on the English II (684) and Algebra I (684) end-of-course exams. Students must also take the other four state tests, as they may lead to diploma seals as required for graduation. Students must earn at least two diploma seals, one of which must be state-defined. Scoring proficient on biology, American history, and government exams can earn a state defined seal.
Additionally, all students are required to take the state-funded ACT in the spring of their junior year.
